Journey Birthday Boy is a TV movie and 11th episode of the TV series Harry and Friends and it aired on July 14, 1995 and it guest stars the band Journey (voiced by themselves). It was later released on VHS and soundtrack on July 25, the same year (the same day as the home video special We're Dancing Now! and DVD in 2003 and Blu-Ray in 2008.

StoryEdit

Harry D. Rabbit, his dog Spot and his friends Amy Fourpaws, Earl and Joey Earwax, Stinky Jones and upcoming teacher Mr. Conrad are celebrating Earl's 8th birthday which is themed Journey album Frontiers and is also coming up. Harry, Spot and Amy meet and befriend the lead singer of Journey Steve Perry who Amy first met and befriended alongside his girlfriend Sherrie Swafford inside earlier that morning after he and Earl accidentally hit him with his scooter and Earl's skateboard. His great-grandfather has died and he, Spot and his friends can't go his funeral. Meanwhile, the evil bully Chucky Barnes steals Harry's dog leash and Amy's jump rope that Harry and Amy left behind and plots to tie the others and ruin Earl's birthday party. Harry wraps the birthday presents along with Spot, Earl's aunt Shira, Joey, Stinky and Amy while Earl meets Steve Perry the lead singer of the band Journey who Harry met and befriended earlier that evening, his girlfriend Sherrie Swafford and the other members and also Harry discovers birthday secret and notices that his dog leash and Amy's jump rope are gone. He, Spot, Joey, Stinky and Amy also meet the other Journeymen who Earl also befriended, a girl Wendy Wong who Stinky met and befriended and is also in love with and Sherrie who Earl also befriended and befriend them all. When Sherrie and Wendy are kidnapped by Chucky and his snake Angriness while getting out of the wharf door the night before Earl's birthday and Mr. Conrad is kidnapped the same night, Harry and his friends must get help of Wendy's older brother Tran and must save Sherrie, Wendy, Mr. Conrad and Earl's birthday party! Can they do it and will they be able to defeat Chucky before Earl's Journey birthday party is ruined? Of course they will.

The Heroes: The Kids And A Dog

  • Harry D. Rabbit: The main protagonist of the TV movie. He is the heroic and smartest kid of the group. He also hosts the movie and previews and hosts and narrates the beginning and ending.
  • Amy Fourpaws: The main deuteragonist of the TV movie. She is the heroic and bravest kid and only girl in the group.
  • Spot: Harry's pet dog. He travels everywhere with the group.
  • Earl Earwax: The main tritagonist of the TV movie. He is the energetic and intelligent kid and jokester and vegetarian of the group.
  • Stinky Jones: The main co-tritagonist of the TV movie. He is the shiest but honest kid of the group.

  • Sherrie Swafford: Steve's girlfriend and another one of the main co-tritagonists of the TV movie. She's in love with him and is good friends with Amy, Earl, Wendy, Spot and Harry.
  • Neal Schon: The guitarist of the band Journey. He lives with his poor grandmother. He is one of Joey's favorite members of Journey.
  • Ross Valory: The bassist of the band Journey. He is smart and sometimes breaks the rules. He is another one of Joey's favorite members of Journey.
  • Steve "Mr. Smith" Smith: The drummer of the band Journey. When he was young, he wanted to be a teacher. He is Stinky's favorite member of Journey.
  • Jonathan Cain: The keyboardist of the band Journey. He is another one of Joey's favorite members of Journey.

The Heroes: Others

  • Aunt Shira Earwax: Earl's and Joey's aunt. She is the sweetest and kindest aunt who loves the kids very much.
  • Wendy Wong: Stinky's love-interest and of the main co-tritagonists. She is smart and kind and the only Wong child who survived in an orca accident all of her older brothers and sisters and paternal uncle have died. She's also a big fan of Journey especially Steve Perry the vocals.
  • Claire Lizzard: Chucky's girlfriend but she's kind and friendly most of the time.
  • Mr. Conrad: The one of the main co-tritagonists of TV movie. He is Harry's good friend and upcoming teacher.
  • Graham Dent: The concert announcer. He is angry at Earl for knocking someone down but apologizes to him near the end.
  • Kenny Loggins: Steve's best friend and Harry's and Earl's good friend. He loves attention with everyone and is talented.
  • Police Officers: They arrive and arrest Chucky for doing something evil and send him to jail as his punishment for the rest of the summer vacation.
  • Chucky's family: They are angry at Chucky for what he has done.
  • Herbie Herbert (mentioned by Mr. Conrad): The Journey concert manager. He is mentioned by Mr. Conrad who could help him set up the concert.
  • Billy Joel (mentioned by Harry D. Rabbit): One of Harry's music star friends along with Spot's, Wendy's and Amy's. He is mentioned by Harry about how he got his dog Spot and to Steve to meet him one day. He also co-hosts with Harry in the previews and makes cameo appearances talking to Harry in this film.
  • Olivia Rabbit (flashback): Harry's younger sister. She is mentioned by her brother and only appears in his flashbacks and talks to him on the phone not to let him forget to wish Earl happy birthday for her.

The Villains

  • Chucky Barnes: The main antagonist and villain of the TV movie. He hates all music by the band Journey and wants to get rid of them all. He casts an evil spell turning Baker Danny Oink to stone. He is later arrested by the police and punished by his family in jail. After the credits, he has been forced to listen to Journey in his own jail cell until summer vacation is over everyday for the rest of his life.
  • Angriness: Chucky's pet snake. He is killed and devoured by Harry's dog Spot in the final battle too slow to flee.
  • Margaret Olmstead: The main female villain. She was pushed in the water by Harry D. Rabbit and drowns after she has tied Steve Perry's girlfriend Sherrie Swafford to the telephone pole with Amy's jump rope and Mr. Conrad and Wendy to the electricity pole with Harry's dog leash.

  • Ross Valory: The bassist of Journey. He didn't like Sherrie at first, but he likes her after she is rescued by Harry and his friends.
  • Jonathan Cain: The keyboardist of Journey. He didn't like Sherrie at first, but after rescuing her, he, Neal, Mr. Smith and Ross apologize to and now like her as well.
  • Mr. Conrad: Harry's good friend and upcoming teacher. He is smart, brave and kind.
  • Wendy Wong: Stinky's girlfriend. Like Harry, she loves riding her scooter.


The Main VillainsEdit

"Oh, Sherrie" is performed and sung by child star Becky Thompson (b. May 25, 1985 in Buena Vista, Florida and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida who has long light brown hair with bangs, blue eyes and freckles on her face) who voices Amy Fourpaws and sings the theme song in the TV series every opening and TV film also ending credits. The video takes place Harry and Friends themed and was shot in the Park Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, California. It is also heard in the ending credits of Harry and Friends Journey Birthday Boy.

Crazy Credits: Post-Credits SceneEdit

  • As the ending scene fades to the credits, it reads "THE END" while the Harry's noisemaker is heard the same time.
  • At the end of the credits it reads "In Loving Memory of Ian Crawford (1980-1995)".
  • After the credits, there is a post-credits scene where Chucky who is still in jail has already gotten forced by the police cops to listen to Journey music he hates every day for the rest of his life when he's still in his own jail cell like one of the Journey CDs Evolution song "Loving, Touching, Squeezing". He sadly says "Well, for now, I guess I'll have no choice but to stay in here and listen to this in here.........." and continues when the screen goes blank and the ending logos Warner Bros and PBS ".......every day for the rest of my life!".


Howard Rabbit's FuneralEdit

All of Harry's family members along with Amy's family, some of Earl's family members, Stinky's family members, Steve's mom Mary and her husband Marv, the other Journey members's family members and the rest of the Barnes family members are in Howard's funeral where Harry's little sister Olivia misses her brother and great-grandpa a lot.
